First Pride Train Staffed by an LGBTQ Crew Launched in UK

The first Pride train in the UK launched by a train operating company, Avanti West Coast, is arriving at Manchester Piccadilly station today. Apart from the eye-catching Pride flag, the eleven carriage train is special because of its crew – all members are LGBTQ+.

The train starts its journey in London and heads up and down one of the UK’s most crucial railway corridors, the West Coast Main Line.

Besides the traditional Pride rainbow colors, the Pride train includes brown and black colors to support people of color and minority ethnic inclusion. Paul Austin, train Manager, is glad to be a member of the first LGBTQ+ crew in the UK and mentioned that it’s about being accepted for who they are.
