Jared Leto is undoubtedly a great actor, but that’s not all. Now the film star is working on something even more exciting. He has confirmed that his movie, devoted to world-renowned artist Andy Warhol is in progress.
In his recent Instagram post, the actor wrote that he would play the prominent creator in a future motion picture. These words confirm the reports from several years ago that Leto will play the lead role in the biopic, called Warhol.
And when it comes to the playbook, it is based on the brilliant book written by Victor Bockris. The author of the screenplay is Terence Winter, who created the script to The Wolf of Wall Street for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Andy Warhol was an iconic figure
Andy Warhol, who passed away in 1987 at the age of 58, lived openly as a gay man.
He built his reputation as a leader of the visual art movement which highlighted advertising and consumer culture in the 1960s. Warhol is well-known for representations of legendary American objects. His artworks demonstrated dollar bills, popular soup cans as well as Coca-Cola bottles. He also depicted celebs including Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe. Warhol established Interview magazine and wrote numerous books too.
In his Instagram post, Leto also showed pictures of Andy Warhol with the caption ‘We miss you and your genius.’
